I, as well, did not know this was a common practice in Egypt. While I
understand the resentment at the encroachment of western values and
cultures into other countries, I also have to believe that a point will
be reached where mutilating women will become intolerable to both sexes.
This is truly heartbreaking and once again proving, that universally,
women have a long way to go. When someone says “Who needs feminists?”, I
have a resounding answer – we all do.
