Ultra-sexist cultures persevere due to the lack of self-critic on the
majority of the opressed people. They are educated since birth to
believe in that way and that way alone. In those cultures a very small
number of women fight to change, because they see it beyond the
generational nonsense. While studying victimology in sex crimes I read
that some female victims have little to no empathy towards other
victims. That led some anthropologists to the theory that the
continuation of barbaric acts by the mothers to daughters is simply a
way to relive and face that action or simply because they either didn’t
care or wanted others to suffer the same.
Did you knew honor killings is quite common on our side of the globe,
maong christians, but we don’t call that due to pure discrimination on
muslims. After all we are nothing like them.
Societies that men and women share power there is better balanced and
it progresses faster and further than most (Sweden), because women
literally gives men a better and more moderate view and sort of override
the effects of testoterone (less idiotic, impulsive harsh decicion
making leads to better ideas – who knew?).
That picture of the woman in Egypt being groped reminded me of that
US journalist who got gang raped in the middle of the crowd… Everyone
around acted like it was the most common thing in the world, until she
was aided by a few women. Didn’t get much news after the fact and hope
she’s okay. The Muslim Brotherhood condemned the fact but later stated
that her looks brought it upon her and that’s why women should wear a
head scarf or a burka.
